PB Teen Skateboard Speaker Shelf

We're not sure if this is cool or really lame, but it is arguably interesting, especially when considered as a DIY project. But don't try to really ride this deck...it's only made of MDF and not ride-worthy lumber. Details under the jump...

Includes two 3" 3-watt speakers, with French cleats and a built-in 30-pin dock that’s compatible with most iPods. The mounted deck also serves as a shelf, giving you about 5.5" depth for light weighted objects. Considering the $179 price tag, we'd recommend you just make your own.

What a cool Idea! A person could make this out of scrap wood (besides MDF) or if you didn't want a skateboard one could make any number of designs. This Rocks!

I think this particular version falls under "lame", because those don't look the least like actual skateboard decks -- but the same thing made out of an actual skateboard deck would have a much better chance. Doubly so if the skateboard deck was well-used.
