apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

#20 - Alex's A no V

Name: Alex
Location: Philadelphia, PA
A/V or Home Office: A no V

Favorite Source:

The Crate and Barrel outlet in Cranbury, NJ is a good option for those in the tri-state area. New items arrive every Wednesday. Unsold items are marked down another 10% every Monday, up to a certain point. Make a wedding registry and receive 10% off.

PS: Yes, that's an Apartment Therapy book on my shelf.

What inspired you?

I don't watch TV, so I call my submission "A no V". I was inspired by the Bose SoundDock, but daunted by the price. Music is integral to my life, so I wanted to find a way to enjoy the sound and express some individuality.

I hooked my iPod up to Monsoon flat-panel speakers, which fill the room with a rich sound. I added some personality with a mini-bookshelf from Crate and Barrel and tucked the wires under a lavender-colored candle from Target. 'Luminary Bliss', a print from Anti-Girl, hangs on the wall. I discovered the artist on Apartment Therapy!

Great Tip:

Try using unconventional furniture and accessories to personalize your space and make it feel less "techy" and more "homey"

you certainly made it feel less "techy"...you don't even have a dock for the your ipod.

Appreciate the C&B tip. A nice color choice, and kudos for resourcefulness, but the entire space would be ever so much better if you could put on a very basic dust ruffle or use a spare flat sheet
