Home Tech Semi-Finalist #3 - Joel's Mini Miami Masterpiece

Name: Joel
Location: Miami, FL

Favorite other tech entry from the contest:
"#13 Kelly and Gregory's media wall. I really dig it but is something that looks "too professionally done" I will have to rip a lots of walls to achieve that. Better to start that project when you buy a new house and you need to do a gut-renovation...
The other entrie that we fill "identified" with was #10 Mathew and Kimberly's modern organic. My wife told me that it looks like something that came from us!

What's next on your tech to-do list? The list is endless, but one way or another, I want to replace the front door system with a biometric entry using fingerprints only (no key or keypads) also a video intercomm linked to the mini set up via wi-fi and that I can open the front door from the computer. That's for now...

tell us about the speakers, I think I have the same ones which I bought for thier tiny size, are they Gallo... How is the sound with that type of under-mounting? I am still agonzing about how I can compromise their placement for best sound with placement for making them disapear...

Hi Thanks for the kind words.... Mike! The speakers are cheap JBL solutions (SPOT) the sound bounces from the wood floors up and the credenza has longish legs so, sound placement is great. The sub is sitting inside the credenza and with its doors closed the low frequencies can get out with no problem. I was trying to get a system to replace our stereo, being clean, almost like it's not really there untin you need it. It's far more that what we needed but welcomed!

Great entry! Congrats. Many of the entries in this competition seemed to fall short, but yours really incorporates all the elements that make a small cool tech setup! The rest of your place looks really fab too.
