2009 Gift Fair: Sonoro's Desktop Stereos

Last week we checked out the New York International Gift Fair. Today we're looking at Sonoro's line of desktop radios and stereos. This TK-sized stereos feature sonoro's 360-degree Sound Technology that combines both left and right channels and pumps them out of a single three-inch speaker at the top of the box. We heard these in the loud halls of Javits during the fair and it was pretty impressive. There are currently two models with two more expected in May...
 
 
  • Elements w/ iPod dock and Elements clock radio: $300; AM/FM clock radio with an aux-in cable to plug in your MP3 player. An upcoming $550 Elements model will come with Internet radio. You can select one of 10,000 stations by geography and/or genre.
  • Cubo: $400; CD player, AM/FM clock radio, and aux-in cable to plug in your MP3 player. Comes in 10 colors.The casings are made of solid wood and hand sprayed with one of seven colors or polished with walnut, cherry, or maple wood varnish.
  • Elements with iPod dock: Separate $100 iPod dock, LED-illuminated metal control ring.

I listened to one of the clock radios a few weeks ago and was less than impressed. For $300 I think there are better options.
