We're not sure of the need for redundancy in its name, but this 2nd Generation iPod Nano speaker setup from Brookstone provides portable sound for about the same size as a CD--and at only $39, is very easily a gift for mom...or yourself.
Battery-powered, this little set-up can very easily be moved from room-to-room as you go. Color-coordinate if you like, as it's available in black, silver, green and pink (but sadly not in blue or red).
