Doze Off to Music with the Sound Asleep Pillow

090109mp3pillow01.jpgPlenty of us seem to wear headphones while working, but in the last year or so we've returned to a teen habit: easing into sleep while listening to music with headphones. After about 30 minutes of listening to downtempo bands (we can't recommend Atlas Sound/Lotus Plaza enough for this specific goal) or classical, we're rewarded with a sound night of sleep. The only problem is we have to catch ourselves at the exact moment we're about to enter Sandman to remove our headphones...

090109mp3pillow02.jpgThat's where the Sound Asleep Pillow might be good for those of us who enjoy dozing off to music, but don't want to worry about headphone headaches from wearing them too long. A memory foam or fiber filled pillow with connections for most any MP3 music player, the Sound Asleep Pillow's speaker is supposedly nestled deep enough inside as not to be felt. We wonder if summertime sweat machines like ourselves (and some drooling, disturbingly lately) would be endanger of ruining such a pillow-y gadget? It does look much more comfortable and sturdy than the iSleep, but for now, we'll stick to our headphones.

I've been using a pair of headphones from Panasonic that are flat enough that I can sleep on my side w/o any discomfort. I use earplugs (due to hubby's snoring!) and I can hear the music well w/ the headphones & earplugs.
