Harmon Kardon Glass Speakers

090208_glassspeak.jpgHarmon-Kardon have just released these beauties made out of glass crystal. It's hard to decide if they are tacky or beautiful. It all depends on your personal tastes.

Apparently only two to three thousand are going to be made, which makes them a tad expensive in our tastes. They come with a 3.5 mm mini-jack to connect with your PC or MP3 player, DSP equalization and with 56 watts of power per speaker. These shiny clear speakers will be available this fall for almost $1000.

They'd probably sound pretty good - that much crystal would be pretty inert, so you wouldn't get a lot of unwanted resonances.

They're like a homemade ode to the venerable Soundsticks!
