iHome Under Kitchen Cabinet Stereo

2007-03-26-ihomeradio.jpgThe under-cabinet concept isn't new, we grew up with one in our parent's kitchen. iHome's model, however, is way cooler than our parent's radio. We can play our iPods, listen to the TV, check out the weather, or god forbid, listen to the radio.

iHome's take on this classic has refined the under-the-counter radio to include what's become our modern day microwave, the iPod, no home can live without it. We like how it offers a space-saving solution, as well as bringing some life to our kitchen.

Available here for $99.99.

We got one of these as a gift for our wedding in October. My wife loves it. The only drawback is that the iPod tray is not fully mechanized. While it does glide nicely up and into the player, to open as in the picture, the glider only goes so far and then gravity takes over, giving your player quite a jolt as the tray falls into place. While it hasn't caused any problems yet, I can't believe that that kind of rough and tumble is a good thing for the hard drive. But if you just hold onto the tray as it descends, this minor problem is easily solved, making this a great kitchen tunes solution.
