Practical when open, hot when closed. These Roxy Speakers come in their own speaker cabinet/hard-side travel case that doesn't give away the inside contents of the case.
The speakers include aluminum cone neodymium drivers, ported speaker housings and Maxxbass technology for "enhanced bass response." Unfortunately, when we just checked the Apple site, they're sold out; at the reasonable price of $100 combined with this great design, we can see why.
My wife and I saw this at the Apple Store a couple of months ago, and my wife's "oooh, shiny!" reflex kicked in. They had three of them. I went back two nights later, and they had none. Popular item? No. Someone had bought one, gotten it home, and found it was broken. So they brought it back, got an exchange, and that one was broken. So was the third. The Apple Store employee I spoke to said she couldn't recommend them, and after hearing that story, I agreed.
We got my wife a different set of speakers for her iPod.
