Wireless Solar Powered Speakers

2007_05_01 wirelessoutdoorsolarspeaker.jpgWe spent the weekend sitting out on the deck for the first time in a long time. Good friends, good food and good weather are always nice, especially when they all come at the same time. There was one thing missing from the weekend however, good music. When we came across these wireless solar powered speakers we thought that this would be a pretty good way of getting our music out onto the deck without having to worry about wires.

This speaker system consists of two parts, the actual speaker and a wireless transmitter that remains plugged in to your music source (i.e. iPod). You also get a remote control as part of the package but considering your music source can be up to 150 feet away, changing tracks will not really be an option, but for simple patio ambiance this should do just fine.

For those of us not so fortunate to live in the UK, you can get them here too:

It appears that you can hook up as many of these wireless speakers to one source as you like. Its just too bad they look like they should be holding coffee instead of making noise.

I'd love to see a wireless speaker round up. I don't have a decent stereo right now but I'm about to get a hand-me-down - no speakers, though. I'd like to have just one set for the whole house. Can I use wireless speakers with an older stereo? Can I just roam around the house and yard with them? Can I do this very cheaply?
