Yamaha MCR-140 and MCR-040 iPod Docks

091109MCR-140-1.jpgTo be honest, we've never been big proponents of iPod docks (well, except for those minimalist Geneva Sound units) because most of them have an awkward look to them with an iPod parked ontop. At least Yamaha is designing units that match in colour with Apple's ubiquitous mobile music accessory, while also offering the option to untether your iPod from docking altogether...

091109MCR-140-2.jpgThe orange MCR-040 is the more typical of the two models released with a CD player can handle MP3 and WMA files, 2 x 15 watts speakers, a cabinet designed for vibration control and a frequency response of 50Hz-18kHz.

The MCR-140 also looks like a stylish bookshelf system like the 040, but also offers an added feature: wireless uncompressed streaming audio. Both the MCR-140 and MCR-040 systems will be available in a rainbow selection of iPod matching, ten colours for $280 for the MCR-040 and $400 for the MCR-140.
