While the HD-DVD and Bluray war is now a distant memory, this doesn't mean Bluray can pop open a Pepsi and hang out. No sir, the next biggest threat for the Sony discs is the Internet itself! That's right - with more digital downloading services opening up with cheap, competitive pricing against their plastic competitors, the fight looks to become only fiercer. That's good news for us though, we get to pick which one suits our lifestyle the best!

I would like to say digital downloads will win but with Comcast capping customers "unlimited" bandwidth at 250GB and a variety of other companies testing metered bandwidth, I think downloads have their work cut out for them. Add DRM that means you either lose you movies if you lose your harddrive or you break the law circumventing the DRM and I think Bluray has a good chance of winning.

Advocate for digital downloads sans DRM! Give me the ability to play media on any of my digital devices -- that is the future!

hd-dvd! seriously, though. I'm hoping for digital downloads, although my horse lost in the first round, so I don't know if I'd bet on it.

Digital downloads. iTunes is already offering a few TV shows in HD, and they're selling well. Who wants to have more discs (and their storage cases) cluttering up their space - especially when they're just gonna be obsolete in 5-10 years, anyhow?

I say blu-ray, purely because of its quality when compared to 'hd' downloads.
gizmodo had a article on this recently

also, living in new zealand, my bandwidth limit is 15gb (which is considered high here in nz) i cant afford to be paying for movies AND the bandwidth required to get them
plus when you get movies in physical form, a hdd falure wont just erase them....
