Survey: Do You Have a Gaming System?

2007-04-26ps3controller.jpgInquiring minds want to know... do you have a gaming system? And in either case, what would you like us to see covered here on AT:Home Tech related to it? How much does having a system affect the design of the room it resides in?

Damn - I didn't see the "Multiple Ones" option before I answered. I have a Wii, an N64, a Super Nintendo, a Nintendo, and an Atari. Believe it or not, but I'm not really a hardcore gamer, either. I've just held on to all those old game systems because I took good care of my stuff as a kid.

Wow. I thought I'd be alone voting "No...and I don't want one." But I have to admit the Wii is pretty attractive and fun.

I wouldn't read anything here on games. My eyes just zone out if I see game coverage on Gizmodo, Pogue, anywhere.

You people have obviously not discovered the joy that is Guitar Hero. That game is so much fun, especially with a group of people. It's the ultimate air guitar competition!

The thing is, I have so many addictions now, I stay away from games and gambling! I have plenty of other ways to have fun.

Oh, I'm not anti-gaming per-se... It's just that when Grand Theft Auto 3 came out I nearly lost a semester of college... It's more of a self-preservation mechanism that kicks in when around video games...

I'm not a "gamer," either... but you don't have to be a gamer to enjoy using game consoles these days. I use my Xbox 360 to stream recorded TV shows from my computer to the TV in my bedroom... wirelessly. I *know* AT-enthusiasts are anti-wires... Plus, it plays HD-DVD movies. The PS3 can do all that as well.

I love playing video games. My husband has a Playstation 2 but I grew up with Nintendo game systems so I just inherited my little brother's game cube (he picked up a new Wii which is dangerously addictive so I think I'll just play when I'm at his place). I especially like group games like Dance Dance Revolution and Monkeyball, they can be tons of fun on a rainy day with some friends.

I use my xbox 360 for the media streaming as well ... although it is only from my laptop in one corner of my studio flat to the other - but it's still wireless.

I also use it for gaming, primarily online with my younger brothers who still live at home. In that way, rather than games sucking up all my time (which they are wont to do with the likes of GTA), its a good way of keeping in touch.

I think of buying the ps3. Not only for gaming but it's the best looking dvd-player out there (and blueray)
