Survey: Do You HDTV?

2007-08-27rPodHome.jpg

Is your TV high-definition? All of the media out there is saying we're moving towards HDTV, but ATers have their own pace of doing things. We'd like to know: what type of TV you have?

I have the Olevia 37" 237T, which I've had for about three months now. Originally, we were going to hold off on upgrading, but Target had a sale where the TV was $100 off, so we bought one. It's not the highest resolution, but it was affordable.

With the phase-out of analog coming in February 2009, it doesn't make a lot of sense to buy anything but HD, unless you're deliberately aiming for a cheap and disposable portable.

I have an HD projector, but the only HD played on it is games and movies. I have not found enough compelling TV content on HD to warrant giving up my SD Tivo for.

The HD Tivo is well worth the investment. I watch nothing that is _not_ HD.

I don't even have cable! When we can arrage the rabbit ears to get clear reception, we sometimes refer to it as HD...does that count? ;)

I have a high resolution 24" LCD monitor, not a TV. Like Sarah G I don't have cable, or even a TV antenna, so what I'm watching are movies (through my Mac Mini). But with a resolution of 1900x1200, it's definitely High Def.

Sarah G: I don't either. I have an antenna, a 26" DLP HD TV (Samsung) and an HD Tivo.

can you move your lifetime subscription to an HD tivo? I don't pay any monthly content fees now and don't want to.

Laurie,

Back in Sept, '06 you could have transfer your lifetime sub to HD Tivo for a mere $199 if you bought your HD Tivo before Dec '06 and transfer the sub before Jan '07. Not sure what it is right now.

I bought my HDTV 2 years ago...and I LOATHE regular tv now. I'm so used to better. I'm an HDTV snob now. It annoys me to watch regular tv.

We have a card so that we watch HDTV on our computers which are attached to a TV and a projector. It's great.
