Internet Radio practiced dying yesterday to protest the upcoming 300% royalty rate increase for on-line music webcasters that the Copyright Royalty Board charges, which are retroactive for the past 17 months and due on July 15th; this threatens to deep-six internet radio. We missed the silence because we didn't get a chance to tune in yesterday at work. Did you "hear" it? Do you frequently listen to internet radio?
I used to listen to Sirius online but gave it up in an effort to curb my spending. I now listen to Yahoo radio all day at work. Yesterday I had to grab the CD magazine from my car player and play those because I cannot work listening only to the squeak of my colleague's chair and the odd rumble from the faulty a/c.

I don't listen to state-side internet radio often (not a huge music fan), yes I'd be sad if Pandora were to close but at least the BBC has a variety of stations (love bbc4 bbc7 and occasionally bbc2).
Their listen again options make it superior (for me) as I don't have to wait through songs or programs I don't like, I can immediately scan to see if something iterests me and it's free :)
If the BBC were to lock down their digital radio to UK only IP addresses though, like they're going to do with the 7-day replay video player, I would be heartbroken as I really do listen all day while working.
