Survey: Email Going the Way of Snail Mail?

We don't think it is quite there yet, but the statistics are definitely painting an interesting picture.

• Half of web using teenagers prefer to chat via instant messaging versus email
• Increasing popularity of Twitter and Facebook are showing Yahoo! and Hotmail accounts lying dormant
• Over the last year, teen email use was down 8%

We can't really see email going away for business anytime soon but it does make us curious about our AT: Home Tech readers:

I don't know about backing up while on "holiday", but I back up at home by putting all of our photos on a 4GB thumb drive, which then gets thrown into the fireproof safe. Probably not 100%, but it's gotta be better than just leaving them on my hard drive.
