Survey: How Much Do You Shop On-line?

2007-06-26-target-endofrain.jpg

Over lunch today, we went to Target for the 2nd time this week; today's trip was in search of aloe vera gel to calm our sunburned skin from too much fun on the lake. They were out of stock, but we still managed to spend nearly $60 on clothes and accessories.

That's something we'd be far less likely to do if we shopped on-line; realizing this made us wonder: do you shop on-line more now than in the past, less, or the same amount? Say, 2-3 years ago is the past. How often do you "get sucked in" to buying other things not on your original list when shopping on-line? What types of things do you typically buy on-line?

Thanks to Tom Arthur for the First Stop? Heaven. No. wait. Target pic.

I've been very happy with my online shopping experiences. The best thing is buying gifts online and having them shipped directly to the recipient. I love amazon, deepdiscountdvd and retromodern.com. It's not as easy for me to impulse buy online either, as I'm usually searching for something specific.

Amazon and endless.com are becoming regular shippers at my house. I used to use the internet for just the research part, but with shipping costs low and gas and time costs rising, shopping through the net is making more and more sense. Finding what I want, at the price I want, and able to get it next day or close is fantastic. And yes, impulse buying isn't such a problem-there's no candy/gum/giftcard display next to my desk.

online shopping is amazing. online stores carry a lot more products and sizes than the physical stores. i tend to order only from those stores with low or shipping and have great return policies.

i just ordered something from nordstrom's online store. they don't carry that particular dress in my area but if it doesn't work out i can return it at any nordstrom location minus the $5 shipping fee of course.

I do more of my shopping online than i ever have before, mostly because its almost impossible to shop with a toddler in tow. I signed up for upromise, which is another incentive to shop online.

When I can, I try to shop from places that aren't all the way across the country. I also try to support "Mom & Pop" online businesses. The UPS guy comes down my street several times a day, whether i've ordered anything or not, so I figure why should *I* waste gas when I could be playing with my kid at the park?
