Survey: What Are You Watching Hulu On?

052109_sz_monitor.jpg We all know that both television shows and movies are moving away from discs and cable operators and towards the web. Even the cable companies know they have to come up with a way to jump on the 'net bandwagon. Last month we posted about the various ways you can stream content via your ISP, but we want to know, once you start streaming, what do you watch on?

Like the guy pictured above, we've started using our computer screen as a second TV. With our home office directly across from our bed it's easy to pull up an episode of The Daily Show through Hulu and sprawl out in front of our monitor.

I watch it in bed using my laptop on my cushy laptop tray (which helps it from getting overheated).

My 22" widescreen LCD is bigger than my television. :D
But most of the time It's not in fullscreen.

I also hulu on a 8.9" Acer netbook.

I'm still amazed and shocked how hulu has become a facet of my surfing habits. I only watch real tv anymore off a tivo.

I have a box that converts the monitor-out from my PC to composite video. I then just plug it into the back of my TV. It works reasonable well.

I have a mac mini adapt with eye-tv hooked up to my 47 inch flat screen. Great! Watched the season finale of Grey's Anatomy in HD last night :)

Poll options should have been multiple choice! ;-)

My FAVORITE way is via my laptop hooked to my tv. My parents bought a new laptop, and I inherited their old one, which provided a nice little dedicated Hulu-vehicle for my bedroom TV. The problem with that is my little presentation mouse/pointer is SOOOOOOO SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOW moving across that big screen, and I have no keyboard (for when Hulu logs you out and you can't get to your queue!). Looking into remedying that soon with a mini wireless keyboard/trackpadhref>, but waiting to see if the price will come down or more options will become available.

I also watch on my computer while working or surfing at home. Generally I'll go halfsies on my screen real estate for that - Hulu on the bottom, work on the top. Maybe one of these days I'll invest in a second monitor, but this works for now.

I would LOVE to set up a media server, but until wireless input devices get a little more practical, I'm waiting on that step. But seriously, who needs cable anymore? :D
