We look at it far more than we realize on our computers, the background picture is always there, but is it something you make worth looking at, or do you just ignore it? One isn't better than the other, we just want to know: whatchu lookin' at?

How often do you change your wallpaper?
My wife and I use pictures that one of us has taken as we're both amateur shutterbugs - sometimes it's family and friends, sometimes a landscape. It all depends on our mood.

I've liked Mandolux as a resource for screen backgrounds.

All photos of Monica Bellucci and Anna Falchi. I have a thing for Italian Earth-Goddesses. Thankfully my wife finds it endearing.

I always have to match my wallpaper with whatever theme I have running. Everything has to be clean to me. Maybe i'm just a tad anal about that. :)

My rotating collection includes some of my own photos, some from flickr, some from http://www.yannarthusbertrand.com/. They are mostly landscapes and animal pictures (pigs, cows, birds, and cats).

I used to get great calendar wallpapers from Veer.com, but they stopped for some reason. Photos.com has some, but now I make my own. I like to have a calendar on my desktop that isn't full of notes and to-dos.

I use a lot of stuff from plan59.com, and some from todaysinspiration.blogspot.com -- mostly vintage illustrations. I use one for a month or two until it stops making me smile every time I see it, and then I scroll through my collection until something else makes me happy.

If by wallpaper is meant desktop, I've used one of my own photos of a camellia to carry out an appropriate theme for my 24" iMac.
