There's a rumor that's been circulating that Netflix is about to enter the fray for a set-top movie box. Which makes us wonder, would you consider getting a set-top box that lets you rent movies instantaneously? Would you ditch your DVD collection in favor of an instant access model? So we ask....

I said no way but I think I would be able to do this for certain movies or TV series, mostly those that I am interested in watching but are not my favorites.
Honestly I don't think I could ever give up my hard copies. We haven't been able to part with our CD's yet either even though we know it would be a much greener and better space saving solution.

No way - I don't need yet another tech device in my home. On the other hand I don't have DVD collection either. Red envelopes work just fine for me.

Not until bandwidth is plentiful enought to deliver films in HD.

Yeah, definitely depends on the quality. If they can deliver HD or even DVD quality SD, I would do it right away (depending on the price and terms of course).

I don't need another big rectangular box to find an outlet for, connect into my system, and then pay power bills for. DVD's are fine.

I would prefer that the original plan Netflix and Tivo. I do not want another box. What is wrong with using a system that most people use.
Getting another box, especially the clunky VUDU. Did I mention another freaking remote control. I have a universal remote a and I have no more room at the inn.

Netflix is already offering watching the streaming versions of certain movies on their site, depending on the type of subscription you have -- but I can't use it because I do not run XP (do Mac users have the same issue?). Maybe the set top box is their way of getting around this problem; but I'd rather see Netflix develop softwares for every OS FIRST.
I already can't keep up with my Tivo recordings now anyway...
