If being at home this holiday season has taught us one thing, it would be to avoid driving around on a Black Friday afternoon. With retailers desperate for your moneys and frantic savers trying to fight each other for savings, the combination equates to headaches in traffic and the loss of an eye or two.
Here's an better idea - just sit back and appreciate the things that you do have instead of accumulating more "stuff." Whether it be a LCD HDTV or a universal remote, we all have a favorite item in the house that we couldn't possibly imagine living without. I've listed a few of my own favorites... feel free to pitch in!
Fantom Drives 1TB External Hard Drive: I have about 3 of these now. The new ones use Western Digital GP drives, so they run cool and quiet. One of them is used for weekly backups and the other two for movie editing and media storage.
Nintendo DS Lite: I'm still saving up for the iPhone (yeah, I'm a slowski), but it'll be hard to give up all of the hours I've put into my DS the past few years. Nothing beats Picto-chat on long family road trips and hours of Castlevania while in the restroom (admit it, we know some of you do it too!).
Macbook Air: I have the slowest, first generation Macbook Air. No, it doesn't handle 1080p Apple trailers very well, but it does practically everything else I need. Browsing, blogging, and listening to music - all of this comes in this amazingly small package that quite frankly, is the sexiest laptop I've ever used (my custom build Mac-alike PC at home makes a close second)!
Have a home tech item you can't live without? Let us know in the comments!
