Ernest Igl's Jet Desk Back In Production

012009_sz_Ernest3.jpg In 1970 Ernest Igl designed the Jet Desk, which became a cult object collected along with Eames and Herman Miller pieces. Today the desk is back in production, although in a limited series -- 1,970 units. The new desk is made of special high-class polyurethan mix that's 100% recyclable, available in both soft matte or high gloss finish. It comes in four colors -- a pearl-white, deep black, aluminum-metallic, and orange-metallic. The tabletop is held up by three three steel and soft-stop drawers on each side.

Two more photos of this amazing desk after the jump...

Great desk - but are those expedit bookcases? They look like them, but I can't work out if they are slightly more expensive "imitations".
