Oasis Table: A Virtual Interactive Aquarium

081308_oasis_01.jpgAquariums are soothing and relaxing. Anyone who has seen one, knows how relaxing it is to watch fish swim around. When space is an issue, the interactive table comes to the rescue. More than a screen saver, the display will show fish evolving in their virtual environment.

Yunsil Heo came up with this interesting table. It features natural elements, such as sand and pebbles. When they are moved around, they reveal a hidden display. Once this is done, virtual aquatic life starts to grow in the gap. When sand or objects are moved back onto the gap, they are reset.

The movements and displacement creates virtual aquatic life, which prospers and perishes in the environment. Thanks to the pebbles, leaves or water, people can communicate with the virtual creatures.

It's an amazing concept that is in prototype form. No details about prices or availability have been announced.
