SunTable: Pricey Idea Encourages Tons of DIY Possibilities

Made from teak, stainless steel, and a bunch of built-in solar cells, the SunTable is an interesting concept turned production to say the least. Being able to work outside (on sunny days) without the need to worry about dragging a super long extension cord is definitely something we'd like to incorporate into our daily lives in the future.

However, their $2200 price tag may not be for everyone; may we suggest using some IKEA solar panels and a DIY power kit?

According to Engadget:

"The 45-pound weatherproof, 120 volt table with enough battery storage for about 4-hours of laptop / TV use or 6-hours of night time lighting from a 25 watt bulb -- after a 4-hour direct sunlight charge mind you."
