Double Duty. West Elm asks the question, "Table or Desk?" when it comes to their Parsons Desk (available here for $300.) The basic structure with two drawers could easily transition from workspace to entryway, leaving it up to you to decide what it is.
I'm tempted to buy one... I've heard nothing but good things about it, and it's pretty hot. (I secretly want the silver color, but I'll probably go for something "safe.")

i only hear the worst about west elm quality. it would be nice to get some updates on that. there were "ex west elm employees" who were posting a lot, giving us the "inside scoop" on what a scam that place is.
would be nice to hear from other people, because some of their designs are nice.
