The Offices of Lego's Development Department

031009unplggdlego01.jpgWe know many of you tech lovers also happen to be Lego maniacs at heart. So we were pleased to see this recent feature over at Arch Daily showcasing the LEGO Group’s Development Department in Billund, Denmark, revealing a fun but professional space infused with playful touches and modern design elements that befit a brand equated with those very same qualities...

031009unplggdlego02.jpgWe're just a wee bit disappointed the reception desk wasn't made entirely of large sized Lego pieces.

031009unplggdlego03.jpgA library where employees can quietly research their next great project. We love the overhead lampshade lighting.

031009unplggdlego04.jpgAn elevated cafe section allows for relaxation, dining and socialization amongst what is described as a "multinational" team. Nothing brings people together like breaking bread...and doing so in a stylish and friendly area can't but help along the process.

031009unplggdlego05.jpgStripes and a chandelier in a meeting room? Why not?

031009unplggdlego06.jpgOpen social areas like the reception space and cafe make it clear that the Lego offices were specifically designed by architects Bosch & Fjord with impromptu interaction between employees and also guests in mind.

It's nice to see a brand with such a strong identity not take the easy route of making everything in the office look like the product they sell.

Not a Lego chair or lamp in sight.

Love the chandelier in the conference room and pendant lamps in the library. One way to workaround crappy drop ceilings and florescent fixtures...

I am loving the leafy wallpaper. Where can I get some? I too was surprised they didn't have lego-inspired furnishings. It makes sense to have a clean, spare environment since their creations are busy and colorful.
