Yes, yes it is. After recently finishing some pretty extensive renovations I wouldn't even think about using my mobile phone as a level. The number of times I had dropped my real level make this a tragedy waiting to happen.
iPhone: That's One Pricey Level
Admittedly, it is another novel use of the iPhone accelerometer, and if you already have all of your membership cards loaded up on your phone, having a built in level probably wouldn't hurt in a picture hanging pinch.
