Kelly: I was thinking of getting one of those turntables to transfer my collection of bird calls vinyl records to computer. What is the alternative then? Or am I getting something wrong again?

Those USB turntables are really great. We've got a ton of stuff on Vinyl that's just not available on CD or MP3 for that matter. I guess it's not something I really need, but it's not a useless product.

Francesca, I believe you can do that and it is why most people buy them. For me, it is a bit of a frivolous product, as I already have a turntable and have no desire to transfer Vinyl to MP3. But I still want it!
I'm not implying that any of this is useless, just a little frivolous.

whats wrong with the soda maker? Most of my friends in Italy have one, because its more eco friendly to make your own "acqua frizzante" than it is to buy the plastic or (rare) glass bottles from the supermarket, even with recycling, not to mention much more convenient!
