Tip: Put Subscriptions On Hold Before You Travel!

072309_tf_netflixqueue.jpgGoing on a trip is already an expensive venture—if you're early in the planning, just wait until you get back your credit card statement with the plane tickets and hotel reservation charged up—so why not try to save every penny you can? Put your mail-order DVD rental subscription on pause...

GeekSugar chimes in with a tip to make sure you put your subscription to Netflix on hold before you take that extended vacay. It's easy to do and it might save you a little cash while you know you're not using it.

Just go into "Your Account" from your Netflix homepage. Under "Your Plan" in Account Information, just click "Put on hold." You can then choose a hold start date and a reactivation date.

Even if you're not leaving town and instead you just crave a break from movie-watching, you can still use this feature to save a little dough. And you should definitely check to see if your other subscriptions services, like GameFly and the like, have similar features.

We let whomever is cat sitting for us, queue up films that they want to see on our account as an additional perk.
