The new iPod nano is available immediately for $149 (US) for the 8GB model and $179 (US) for the 16GB model in silver, black, purple, blue, green, orange and pink. Our Nano is actually our favourite on-the-go model of the bunch, and now it's an even more compelling machine for those of us who like to run/exercise with an digital audio player.

Capturing video with the iPod nano with real-time effects such as Thermal, Film Grain, Kaleido and X-Ray seems fun (giving Flip Video a run for their money), but it's actually the FM radio integration that seems the most useful for everyday use. Users are able to tag songs, pause broadcast and rewind up to 15 minutes back in Tivo-like fashion and the FM player is integrated with iTunes of course so you can find that song you just heard and download it for regular consumption. A VoiceOver feature even will tell you what song you've been listening to at the press of a button, in 19 different languages.

24 hours of music playback or five hours of video playback on a single charge is a reasonable power consumption rate without too much worry you'll get stranded without tunes or video to keep you preoccuppied. And with an improved Nike+ Running Pedometer system (the UI looks much easier to glance at for info), we think we might be upgrading soon ourselves.
