The Keyspan Tuneview is a remote control and a receiver that is attached to your computer. After installing their software, you will be treated to an iPod-esque view of your entire media library via the color LCD screen on the remote. No longer will you be tethered to your computer whenever you want to play music or a movie. So, the next time you have people over you can play DJ and host simultaneous, without having to excuse yourself to skip over an embarrassing song in you library.
I suspect this is a dumb question, but why would one buy this $149 remote to perform the function of the free remote that came with the computer? There are no extra features that seem obvious to me from the website.

The difference with this device is that it allows you to control it all over your home, not just in line-of-sight of the computer. Plus, it has a screen that allows you to see your entire media library, from wherever you are.
The little remote that comes with new macs are, if I understand it properly, mainly used for controlling frontrow.

And PCs usually don't come with remotes, at least as far as I'm aware...perhaps something's changed recently.
