In case you haven't heard, everyone is buzzing about Sony's new OLED TVs (even our own mothers told us we could not miss it.) So, we had to check them out for ourselves, and we must say we were very much impressed. Those things are thin! The color and clarity of the OLEDs was absolutely breathtaking, and these photos by no way do it justice.
CES 2008: TVs
And while Sony got all of the hype, there were also other thin TVs to be seen at CES this week. Hitachi had some thin plasma TVs as well, (a whopping 1.5 inches) that will be available this first quarter.

OLED's are nice and will be the next flat panel technology. But right now there are some color shifting problems -- think burn in issues from the early plasma day. Also very short life spans of just 3-4 years. At $2,500 for an 11 inch OLED, it's just something early adopters buy to show off.
