Greenovation: Sony's New Low-Power LCD HDTV

sony_kdl-32je1.jpgSony has just unveiled the greenest 32" LCD TV to date. Though only available in Japan for the moment, the television reaches 232% efficiency (a mere 86kWh/year), pulverizing Japan's highest 5-star Energy standard label and setting new expectations for TV manufacturers worldwide. Of course, it'd be kind of nice to see "green" products drop in price a little bit faster, but hey - we're patient people...

Specifications include 720p WXGA resolution (1,366 x 768), 2,500:1 contrast, 178-degree viewing angle, and 2x HDMI and 2x component. Available in Japan starting July 30th for $1,387.

Whoa! 232% efficient! All of energy is used without waste and extra energy is also created? Cool!
