When you just want a fireplace, then that's what you have with the TV hidden from sight. When your ready to watch TV, a push of a button lifts it into view from inside the cabinet. An interesting solution to the conflicting focal points, but it's not a cheap one. Picturehouse is a UK company (we still have yet to find a US manufacturer), and the fireplace cabinet alone costs over $4000 (£2100.)

this is the most god awful thing i've seen on this site..... beyond the fact that it's ugly, who wants to view a tv 5' off the ground?

Flat screen TV's above the fireplace is a real pet peeve of mine. Who would ever place a tube set that high unless you were watching TV standing up.
